A. Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

  • User Email – Used to create and share a Google Sheet for tracking follow-ups.
  • Google Sheet Data – Stores job application details, hiring manager information, and follow-up schedules.

B. Website Content (Extracted Data)

  • Job Listing Information – Extracts details from LinkedIn and Indeed, including job title, company name, and hiring manager details.
  • Resume Content – If the user uploads a resume, it is saved in a Google Sheet for generating AI-assisted follow-up messages.

C. Non-Personal Information

  • Browser Activity – Limited to the current tab to retrieve job-related information.
  • Storage Data – Saves user preferences, such as API keys and Google Sheet IDs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties outside of the following approved use cases:

  • To store job application follow-up details in a user-owned Google Sheet.
  • To generate AI-powered follow-up messages using Groq API (optional).
  • To automate data extraction from job listings for user convenience.

We do not use or transfer user data for:

  • Unrelated purposes beyond job application tracking.
  • Creditworthiness assessments or lending purposes.
  • Advertising or marketing by third parties.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

Your data remains private and is only used within the scope of this extension. However, we do utilize third-party services:

  • Google Apps Script API (to store extracted job data in a user's Google Sheet)
  • OpenAI/Groq API (for generating AI-based follow-up messages)

These services only receive the minimum required data to perform their functions.

5. Data Security

  • No remote code execution – All scripts run locally.
  • Encryption & Secure API Calls – API keys are stored locally and never exposed.
  • Limited Permissions – We only request the necessary Chrome permissions.

You control your data and can delete your stored information at any time.

6. User Controls & Data Deletion

You can:

  • Delete your Google Sheets data directly from Google Drive.
  • Remove the extension to erase locally stored data.
  • Contact us at support@jobfollowup.com to request data deletion.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any changes will be posted in this section. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
